All students in grades K-5 are assessed three times throughout the school year in math fluency and application of math concepts. Adams' Math Specialist, Mr. Roper, provides math interventions for students in grades 3-5. He reviews the assessment data and works with classroom teachers to closely monitor students' grades and classroom performance. If a student falls below established expectations throughout the year, our Math Specialist provides additional instruction to support their learning. This instruction does not replace the classroom instruction but provides another layer of support for the student. Mr. Roper uses research-based interventions that focus on the needs of the students. This more individualized instruction takes place within a small group setting in the Specialist's classroom and progress monitoring occurs bi-weekly to help measure each students' progress.
