Mrs. Casey Holderfield

Welcome! I am Casey Holderfield and I have been teaching for ten years. I love teaching 5th grade and I’m truly excited to work with you and your child!

Fifth grade is an exciting year as students are in the process of getting ready for the junior high! This will require students to have more responsibility, greater accountability, and higher expectations. With responsibility comes many opportunities for fifth grade students. Students may be in band, Kiwanis Kids Club, Stem Club, Wildcat TV hosts, and much more!

In an effort to keep home/school communication going, I am asking for a few minutes of your time each day to quickly check over papers which come home in a “take home” folder. This folder should come home each and every day whether the student has homework or not. You can expect to see tests, assignments, teacher and/or school correspondence in the take home folder. It is also crucial that your chlid brings a student agenda (or planner) to and from school daily. Students will record unifinished assignments. This is a valuble tool for them to use, and it's a good habit to form in order to ensure success at the junior high.

Fifth grade is a fun and exciting time.  Your child will continue to gain independence and confidence as he/she learns and grows this year.  I’m glad to be part of it!  We can work together to help support and nurture your child as he/she moves on toward adolescence.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any quetions and concerns! I try to respond to email communications within a 24 hour period (except on weekends).

Thanks,

Casey Holderfield
