About Jefferson School
Jefferson School: is an elementary K-5 building with approximately 300 students. The School for the Hearing Impaired is attached to Jefferson and houses approximately an additional 85 students.
Teaching Staff : at Jefferson is composed of twelve regular education teachers, two full time Title I teachers, two of which facilitate the first grade Reading ReFILL program, and three special education teachers. Jefferson has an itinerant music teacher, an itinerant physical education teacher, an itinerant band instructor and one enrichment teacher. A parent liaison, guidance counselor and speech pathologist are assigned to Jefferson as is one full time administrator.
Non Teaching Staff: includes two custodians, four cooks, one media aide, two special education instructional aides, a school nurse and two school secretaries.

Jefferson Elementary is a K-5 building and is attached to the School for the Hearing Impaired. Individual learning styles are addressed through both our Reading Styles implementation and divergent thinking instructional techniques. Jefferson has primary and intermediate special educational services as well as a special education resource room. Support services are provided through guidance counseling, speech therapy, and hearing and vision screenings. Jefferson is a School-Wide Title I building with 3 Title teachers.
