Marion Unit #2 Announces Schedule for Beginning of 2008-2009 School Year
The first day of classes for the 2008-2009 school year will be Tuesday, August 19 - 8:10am - 3:15pm (full day of instruction).
Kindergarten Students
who are not pre-registered should register at the Unit Office, 1700 West Cherry St. on Monday, August 4. Unit Office hours are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Parents of kindergarten students will be receiving a letter with detailed information prior to the beginning of school.
All Elementary students (including Creal Springs first through eighth grade students) will register at the Marion Youth Center, 211 East Boulevard, August 5 - 7. The day your student(s) are to register are scheduled by last name. For a complete schedule click

New Look for Website
You may have noticed that the Marion Unit #2 website has a new look. For now the changes are mostly visual, and we hope you like them. We are working to bring all the district pages under this new "banner". You will find that most of the information is in the same location, it is just a more visually pleasing trip to get to it.
We are constantly trying to make sure that the information presented is helpful, accurate and hopefully interesting. We welcome your suggestions as to how we can make the site even better. Feel free to drop us a line using the Contact Us link under District Information.
Sex Offender Notification
According to the
Sex Offender Community Notification Law, 730 ILCS 152/120, parents of children attending Illinois public and private elementary or secondary schools have the right to information about sex offenders made available to the public. Information regarding the Illinois Statewide Sex Offender Database is accessible via the Illinois State Police Department's home page at
http://www.isp.state.il.us/sor/. This database includes a new mapping system where the public can identify any registered sex offenders living within 5 miles of any given address.
